Charitable Bequests
A charitable bequest is your opportunity to leave a legacy to further the mission of the Blair Public Library Foundation, an act of stewardship that truly makes a difference for future generations in our community.
Benefits of Estate Planning
Preparing for the ultimate distribution of the treasures you have accumulated during your life is the final act of stewardship.

- A bequest is free of federal estate tax.
- Your bequest can be changed if desired.
- You can still benefit your heirs with specific gifts.
- A bequest may produce estate tax savings.
Estate Giving Options
1. Gifts through a Simple Will or Trust
Identify Blair Public Library Foundation (BPLF) as a beneficiary of your will or trust. List “Blair Public Library Foundation, Blair, Nebraska” within the document.
Your bequest to BPLF may be:
- A specific dollar amount
- A percentage of the estate
- Specific assets
2. Beneficiary of a Life Insurance Policy
Designate “Blair Public Library Foundation, Blair, Nebraska” as a beneficiary (or partial beneficiary) of your life insurance policy.
3. Beneficiary of a Retirement Plan
